Green Yerba Maté is the favorite drink in Argentina. It's earthy slightly astringent flavor is a great wake me up in the morning.
Actually not from the tea plant (Camellia Sinensis), Yerba Maté (Ilex paraguariensis) is a small tree native to the subtropical highlands of Brazil, Paraguay, and Argentina. Known as the national drink of these countries, Yerba Maté contains matteine not caffeine. It does stimulate the central nervous system similar to caffeine without the coffee crash later.
But you can just drink it because it tastes great.
